Garden Arch and
Gate Most substantive project so far. 9 ft. high, ¼ in. thick steel |
Garden ornament/trellis | Window ornament and flower box |
I made this piece for a friend after her husband of 50 years died. In a way it turned out symbolic. Think of it as a flower growing out of the ground. After a point, it loops down, like a setback in life, then passes through a steel barrier, and then continues to soar upward. My friend is in fact an inspiration for continuing to grow and soar after setbacks. The piece itself I made by heating a square bar in the forge until red hot, then twisting and hammering it into this shape. I punched, not drilled, the hole to allow the rod to pass through itself (look closely). |
Dining room candelabra Set of two. Candles as normal, plus hidden electric light inside center cylinder. |
Napkin Rings Made from single ¼ in. rod, one end flattened into leaf, other end thinned for stem. My first project. |

The patina (sculptnouveau.com) looks more like mahogany than steel. | |
